Hmmm… this has been quite a week. Wow. Yea, it’s only been a week this evening.

For whatever reason you came to this site, whether because you’re a friend of John’s, a fan of the company or the adult industry in general, and/or a person who simply believes that what the government is doing prosecuting this case is wrong, please remember that this type of thing from the government isn’t just going to go away with this case.

We all need to be active in politics, whether through simply voting for causes and people that you believe in, volunteering time or resources to organizations and causes, blogging or commenting on other people’s blogs, and staying informed about things that affect you a lot more than you may realize.

Thank you for coming to this site. We’ll be adding more. As you can imagine, we’ve been a little busy this week.

The good news is, we are standing behind the company and the movies that we distribute 100%.

OK everyone - the floor is yours…

If the government can succeed in this action, then any citizen is fair game; perhaps that’s the entire point. I am proud that I work for a company that will face these absurd charges head-on, without backing down or hiding. To stifle human sexuality under color of law is what’s truly obscene.

    Fight On John!

Thank you for fighting for our First Amendment rights.

I believe that the fathers of our country would be standing right behind you.

While they might have had a good laugh at “I’ll know it when I see it,” they would be horrified to see things go this far. Of all the ways that the Constitution has been twisted and torn, they would surely find this one of the saddest. To not let a men or women choose for themselves what they want to view is the best definition of obscene.

You are embarking on a journey that will change your life, and the lives of many Americans. While defending speech, while defending what is unalienable, many have died. Do not forget this. You are fighting for my freedom to express, for my right to speak freely.

You are fighting the good fight John, and I applaud you.

My sincere condolences on being singled out for a political prosecution.
And thank you for setting this site up and standing up for adults’ rights to be adults.
It’s baffling that the adult industry have never before tried to garner the support of its consumers to make the case for freedom of expression and the freedom of adults to watch what they like in the privacy of their own homes. I hope that this case and this site start a process toward a recognition of the right to freedom of expression and the absurdity of

The last week I have been doing nothing but screaming about this. I am horribly outraged on so many levels and I am sure that everyone that knows me is going to end up lynching me (or at least putting me in a ball gag and cuffs where I can’t talk or type) before this case is over. Not only have I blogged about numerous times it has already been the main topic of my internet radio show.

I thank you for defending the adult industry, first amendment rights and setting an example that everyone else should follow. I am also sorry that you are going through this. It’s unfair.

  19. Pagoda :

    Date: April 15, 2008 @ 7:42 pm

John and Karen, best wishes to you, your family and your employees, as you fight for my rights. I resent government intrusion into my bedroom and my marriage. I also resent its intrusion on my livelihood, on a career I chose because I want to help people live happier, healthier lives.

I hope the administration and its attack dogs realize that the adult industry is partly responsible for keeping thousands of marriages intact, through repeated 15-month separations, crippling combat injuries, and the general stress of the Iraq war. Shame on them. Our service men and women deserve better. Pornography aids fidelity, and provides momentary enjoyment to people who suffer physical, emotional and psychological pain created by the war. I see it on a daily basis.

The obscenity laws are a mess, out of step with modern society and make a mockery of our cherished freedoms. The plain language of the First Amendment is absolute. I remain optimistic that these absurd and wasteful prosecutions will ultimately prove to be something wonderful when the entire house of obscenity law comes crashing down. Looking on the bright side, this is an opportunity to make that happen. Best of luck!

There is no doubt that the porn industry is on the front lines of the battle for the First Amendment - and that this case right now is the most important rallying point for every single member of our industry. I look forward to justice prevailing on the side freedom, pornography, Evil Angel and the Staglianos.

My thoughts are with you guys during this fight. And I know that when it’s all said and done, you will have made America a better place.

LEgal issues have always been part of the buisness / industry. While “free speech” enables some folks to fully express whatever they wish and not have any legal repercussion, the adult industry has always been a target, throughout the decades since the 70s.

In today’s world where internet porn being as rampant as cell phones and wireless technology, where the content of “free” internet porn is getting more extreme by the minute, it is fascinating to see how the bureaucrats and office drones still attack artists and performers who believe in freedom of expression.

Obscenity is matter of perspective and opinion, and everyone has their own views on the subject. Who is to say what is obscene and what is not?

Still, the adult industry thrives on, and will survive through these desperate times.

Perhaps we aren’t too far away from an era of “prohibition”-like porn distribution? Only time will tell!

  33. Gentleman Jon :

Good luck. Hopefully this will blow up in the prosecution’s face. I am really wondering now, if something is not illegal to do, then how can it be illegal to film? At least part of my $600 from the government will come your way, as soon as I get it.

  34. Natasha Badanov :

    Date: April 16, 2008 @ 11:54 am

John, I hope you beat this. Daily, our rights (those of us in the industry) are being taken away. It’s clearly obvious that the government wants to detract from the fact we’re in a war we can’t win and an economy in the toilet. They need to focus on real issues and porn should not be part of this. My thoughts are with you and I’m glad you’re standing up and not rolling over.

I have been a long time fan of Evil Angel’s productions and as a proud member of the adult industry I must say that I’m again appalled to see a country that is so proud to boast about its freedom yet turns on its own pride. Hypocrisy! It’s like being given candy, but punished for eating eat!

I find this indictment, as well as all “obscenity” indictments involving adult material depicting non-violent sex between consenting adults, an utter waste of taxpayer dollars in a supposedly free society governed by the First Amendment. As Mark Kernes is always quick to point out, there is no language in the First Amendment stating that it doesn’t apply to adult materials.
With all the real problems facing this country, including violent crime and the threat of radical Islamic terrorism, I also find this indictment an utter waste of time and resources by federal law enforcement, most especially in this post 9-11 world. Don’t they have more pressing concerns, such as busting all those Al Queda sleeper cells the Bush administration is so fond of saying are out there, hiding among us? (And yes, it has been reported on more than one occasion that many FBI agents assigned to the

In reply to John’s question, “I am not sure how I feel about the money being contributed here. I got myself into this situation, I take full responsibility for being here. I would like to figure out a way to use this money for the defense of our ideas and not actually for my legal fees, which I will pay myself. Suggestions are welcomed.”

Depending on how much is left over after all is said and done, I would think that donating the balance to the Free Speech Coalition would be a possible solution.

If you are left with a significant amount, maybe consider rolling the balance into a fund that helps pornstars (and behind the scenes people too) who have hit hard times — like illness.

I have always thought a school for pornstars — where veterans educate newcomers about being successful and protecting oneself from the dangers of the industry — would be a great idea.

Most importantly, John, people will be contributing because they want you to prevail against the government — and, hopefully, set some legal rulings and standards that advance our industry and protect our Constitutional rights in so doing.

You didn’t seek this role, but, God knows, you are our champion. If it had to be anyone…

Bottom line: Spend every donated dime you need to defend yourself (and us)! We WANT to help.

the problem is that the Pentagon has been influenced by evangelical anti-porn activists, in banning the sale and distribution of pornography to military personnel at military bases. This prohibition is an injustice to the soldiers who deperately need this material to maintain a sense of balance in times of war.

Scientist, have proven sex is a must! Without “YOU” and the porn industery we would have a billon lawsuits regarding people acting out their sexual frustartion! But thanks to people like you we are able to control and maintain ourselves! Unlike someone who is not comfortable with porn and self indulgence and is unable take care of their needs in thier own life setting! Those would be the people that end up not being able to control themselves and whip it out in front your kids!
These are the same people that are prosecuting you and then buying your videos! IF YOU DON”T LIKE IT DON’T WATCH IT! NO ONE IS FORCING YOU!
BUT STOP TRYING TO TAKE AWAY ONE OF MY REASONS FOR LIVING!
Thank you for giving the world a beatiful thing!

the greatest disaster of all these empires was not a result of porn and debauchery, but as a result of the divisive fragmenting, bickering and infighting that developed as a consequence of religious differences. The greatest extents of conquest and development in these empires occured once the authorities had realised that there was a need to give greater freedom to the people.

I was shocked when I heard that the government was foolish enough to go after John Stagliano. From what I’ve seen he is easily one of the most intelligent and well-spoken adult producer/directors in the industry. While the fact that this case was even opened does concern me I’m confident that John can best them so easily it will be laughable.

I have to say that this website is one good thing that will come out of this mockery of justice. I’ve always wondered why it is that Christians have literally hundreds of websites and non-profits dedicated to destroying the adult industry while the industry seemingly does nothing to defend itself. It is as if the industry believes that they are indeed guilty and are just trying to appease those who would bring them to justice so they can continue to be guilty. It is long past the time when the industry comes to realize that it has nothing to be ashamed of and if it wants to continue growing it will have to stand up for itself.

I could go on all day, as I’m sure many other fans of adult can but the bottom line is that there are more fans willing to stand up for their rights than the adult industry realizes and I hope this website and this trial prove it. Keep up the good fight John!

religions are the enemies of freedom, because religions have mislead people into believing that happiness can only be obtained through giving up ones freedom. the
pre-occupation with regulations aimed against pornography are a product of religious indoctrination perpetrated by religious leaders, based on a belief that we need
stricter and stricter controls in order to be happy. how much further off the mark can we be.

the bible is a book of fiction, written by a bunch of religious fanatics whos sole purpose was to sow confusion and animosity in order to divide mankind into conflicting and warring factions. its no wonder that they are fighting against pornography, because they are fighting everything else, including themselves.

  97. Robyn Boraine :

  98. Marco Orlandi :

Yeah, I agree. I was a jehovah’s witness for 15 yrs, but was expelled for promoting pornography within their church. I have never encountered a greater bunch of assholes in my life. They are 100% against pornography. When they write about pornography in their books, magazines , brochures, its always to criticize and condemn it. I have
never read an article of theirs where they have ever said something good about it. Show me a jehovah’s witness who is pro-pornography, and I will show you one who was expelled
from their organization. You are looking at him right now. They are the worst bunch of creeps I have ever encountered in my life.

  99. Marco Orlandi :

visit their website at http://www.watchtower.org and see for yourself how far they go in condemning pornography. just enter the word “pornography” in the search box, on their site to see how many articles they have written against pornography. these are the real enemies of pornography. these are the people who we have to defend porn against.

the bible is a book about sex. god wanted adam and eve to be naked and he wanted them to be exhibitionists fucking in a parklike garden. he approved of abrahams fucking his wifes servant girls, and of samson fucking prostitutes. Jesus was called the “lion of the tribe of judah” yet judah, his greatest grandfather was fucking his daughter in law and visiting prostitutes, so how is it that people say that pornography is amoral when god approved of these activities ?

  106. Marco Orlandi :

    Date: June 18, 2008 @ 12:18 am

the problem with jehovah’s witnesses is that their religion is exclusive and based on a imaginary biblical literalist hyper-morality. they will never promote pornography because their literal interpretation of the bible advocates the eventual destruction of pornography and pornographers by their god.

  107. samantha :

    Date: June 18, 2008 @ 1:01 am

but isnt that the same with all christian religions, evangelists, protestants, catholics. they all condemn pornography, homosexuality, fornication and adultery.

  108. Marco Orlandi :

    Date: June 18, 2008 @ 1:09 am

no. you can be a homosexual or a pornographer and still be catholic or protestant. although they may dissaprove of your actions, they usually wont expell you from their church. with jehovah’s witness’s its different, they will expell you publically (what you have done is announced at their church service) from their church and you are not forthwith permitted to speak with other members in their church. if you try to do that, thy will forbid you to enter their church.

  109. Marco Orlandi :

    Date: June 18, 2008 @ 1:17 am

trust me. the extreme threat that jehovah’s witnesses pose to pornography, pales in significance with other religions. their organization is structured to eliminate not only pornographers but every single letter in the word pornography. these are the guys you have to watch out for.

  110. bill cradock :

  115. Marco Orlandi :

the really dangerous guys are the jehovah’s witness leaders, the governing body, the guys at the jw headquarters, brooklyn, new york. these are guys who make the rules and regulations for the jw organization and these are the guys who they say are going to make up 144 000 judges that will eventually be responsible for eliminating pornographers, pornography, public sex, prostitution and all other forms of “illicit” sex.

these are the manipulators, the controllers and the decision makers. these are the dangerous guys, you have to watch out for. they wont call at your door personally, but their jw representatives will. dont say i didnt warn you about this.

  116. Marco Orlandi :

    Date: June 19, 2008 @ 9:16 am

let me just add. be very careful when these people try to strike up friendships with you at your door, at your work or with your children at school. their friendships have
a single objective, and that is to get you inside their religion.

once you are inside then you are under their control. with any attempt to go against their rules (and you can be sure that they will make up rules as they go), they will prevent you from speaking with other members. you essentially become a puppet of the leaders in the church, who can ask you to do anything they please. so be careful, dont let their apparent kindness and politeness fool you, these guys are dangerous.

  117. Chris Sheen :

    Date: June 22, 2008 @ 10:01 pm

you are probably right about jehovah’s witnesses being the main future threat to pornography, but i think its the evangelicals who are the main threat right now, because a lot of these evangelicals are politically active and have contacts and positions in the US government, and are opposing porn on a political and legal level, whereas the jw governing body is waiting for a future judgement against pornography
, but always with the same religious objective in mind, namely the complete elimination of pornographers and all illicit sex.

I am fan of queer, indie porn companies who create images that represent sexual minorities. It is empowering for the stars in it, for their community to see themselves represented in porn, and it’s educational for people curious about queer sexuality.

This work is so important, though much different than Evil Empire. I love Belladonna who was the first pornstar I saw that I could relate to — her authentic attraction to women was better than any other G/G film I had turned to trying to see images of sex the way that I had it.

I don’t see why people are so afraid of sex.

Hi all. Just found out about this whole thing. Information wants to be free. I SHOULD just stop there, but I’ll go on. The one silver lining to the whole plutocratic/slow-motion-kleptocratic system we have in this culture, is that if there is commecial success, a concept won’t be surpressed for comparativly long. Not without great cost to the surpressors. Cost tends to prohibit. (Yes I know this is a double edged sword.) On another topic, I have around 135 adult dvd’s, many compilation, so I probably have examples of Stagliano’s work. Keep serving your country, dude. Don’t let ‘em stop ya, folks.

Adult entertainment has been an integral part of the human condition since time began. This ridiculous hatred of adult films and the silly archaic notion of ‘indecent’ only serves to promote hatred of the fine actors and actress in adult films as a whole. I feel that I should support this because as Americans, we have a responsibility to protect our rights and combat discrimination in all forms. This art is one of performance and should not be forsaken because of its sexual nature. Logic and reason should guide people and not the petty prejudices that make adult entertainment in any form a taboo. Surrender of the small freedoms are just the beginning. In any way, including donations, I will do my best to support this cause. Give us liberty, or else spit on the older generations who have fought and died for all freedoms: race, democracy, gender, etc…

Mr Stagliano, If I had explained how I felt about Pornography from the outset, you would never have allowed my posts on your guestbook for as long as they have now been on your site ? But Mr Stagliano, freedom is not only about being free to express support for, but also for being free to express opposition for, any cause one pleases, and yet that does not necessarily mean that one has the right to interfere with the freedom of others, or to saboutage their enterprises, and so it is, that I hope that you will allow me the freedom to express my true feelings about Pornography, on your site.

Mr Stagliano, Pornography is one of the scourges of the earth, its like the filth that contaminates everything around us. You may find it being broadcast on every TV, and published on every newstand, yet the message it projects is always the same, dirt. Dont you people feel ashamed of yourselves ? Maybe someday you will realise how degrading your occupation really is, and then with a bit of insight, you may eventually be able to understand how much time you have waisted on such a worthless enterprise. I am not the only person who feels this way, you should understand this by now, we have the backing of governments, why else do you think that for so many years, your nations congress has been instituting legal proceedings against so many Pornographers ? Mr Stagliano, will you give me the freedom to express my viewpoint on your website, not because I am a supporter of your cause, but because I am an opposer ?

    Dear friends,
Porn destroys lives and families. Many people dont understand the consequences of sex addiction and their judgment is biased. They enter into porn consumption out of their weakness. Once they realise porn doesn’t bring any good to them apart from a short time of pleasure, it’s too late to come out of it.
Porn affects negatively ability to concentrate at work or study, promiscuity and STI spreading.

True men are those who can control their instincts and submit them to their reason. Our reason dominates our instinct, not the contrary. We cant become slaves of our insticts.

I wish you all the best dear friends, think well of what you are doing before your conscience, dont hide behind “freedom”. You know your hearts, and cant cheat yourselves but only others.

    Kindest regards

    Dear John & Karen,

I would like to sincerly apologise for having spoken about Jehovah’s Witnesses on your website. I feel that I made a very big mistake in doing this as it has provided unecessary publicity to an organization that not only condemns Pornography, but also to which I am opposed. Joining the JW religion was probably the biggest mistake I ever made in my life, and it literally ruined my life. Fortunately I realised my error in about the
year 2000 and am happy to tell you that I left that religion at this time. I must tell you that I could never have achieved this without the help of Pornography and the Porn
Industry. My regular use of Pornography whilst still a member of the JW church, was the only thing that helped me to disassociate myself from the emotional and mental
abuse that I was experiencing in that religion, and it was Pornography that gave me the
strength to make the decision to leave.

Today I consider myself an Atheist and have now realised that the JW doctrine advocating refusal of blood transfusions, is a serious error that has resulted in the loss of life to many JW members. I am happy to say that today, I am completely opposed to the JW obligations to abstain from blood transfusions and the properly prepared culinary use of blood ingredients. I have demonstrated my opposition to JW’s in this regard, over the last 2 yrs by my open consumption of blood sausages, in the company of many of my friends from all over the world. In this regard I would like to extend a warm greeting to all
those people living in countries where properly prepared culinary consumption of blood is held as a respected tradition (Scotland & UK : Black Pudding, Spain & Latin America : Morcilla, Italy : Sanguinacci, France : Boudin Noir, Germany : Blutwurst ). I dont know
whether I would still be around today if it wasnt for Pornography and your incredible traditions.

hi Mr Stagliano, thanks for the porn photos and movies. we appreciate the amount of hard work you all put into producing these. I would also like to just mention, further to the previous poster that we are Scottish and we eat Black Pudding regulary at home. I must say we thoroughly enjoy it, and so do all of our fellow countrymen.

Scientists have proved that the human species evolved from mammals, and in fact if you look at the scientific classification of Homo Sapiens you will see that we are descended from mammals. No one talks of the morality of mammals, so how come morality is such a big issue amongst humans. We have many things in common with our ancestors. I dont believe that physically we can say we are very different, just a bit more technologically advanced.

Just to correct the previous poster on a small technical issue. If you look at the Scientific classification of Humans, there is no mention of us being descended from mammals. We are in fact classified as mammals. We belong to the Kingdom:Animalia,
    Class:Mammalia and Order:Primates

Karen, I would just like to say that I am trying to adhere to the posting rules for the guestbook, but it is very difficult to do so when you are not prepared to even inform me why you are deleting my posts. I have now modified my previous post, and hope that it now meets the standards for the guestbook.

I would like to donate $$ to defendourporn.org and to encouage the customers of my XXX shop to.. but I have a slight issue; As much as I think in theory max hardcore should not be in jail.. I think the shit he makes is horrible and has lowered the bar and standards in porn, therefore I would not feel comfortable thinking ANY $ I have worked for would go to help him.. does that make me a hypocrite? maybe a bit.. but I’m okay with it this once :)
So my question is this: does any $$ donated go to help his legal defense fund? Because I really do belive in John’s cause and think that he is changing porn for the better!

It is my belief that what any sane minded adult, who agrees to perform any legally allowed action, whether pornographic or otherwise, is allowed, by the basic rights that govern our society, to do so without reprisal, and to punish anyone in such a way is unjust, irresponsible and unconstitutional. In all my years of life I have never heard of any member of the industry force someone to watch anything they didn’t want to see. So if we as pornographic enthusiasts don’t force our views on those who see us as vile, where in our basic laws is it stated “hey even though doing certain actions in the sanctity of your own home is okay, the second you try to distribute any films depicting said actions to a select group of adults who willingly agree to see said films, its illegal because we as elected officials find it icky.”

    Support porn. Support Sanity.

What’s been done to you, Mr. Stagliano, is disgusting. Instead of conquering REAL problems, the government, law enforcement and court system has nothing better to do than intrude on people’s private lives that aren’t harming ANYONE. America won’t truly be “free” until these frivolous prosecutions cease completely. Good luck to you and yours, sir.

It looks as if the evil empire is going after the evil empire, it is now time for Americans to stand up for one of them, too bad most Americans are not living in reality and don’t mind giving away rights for a sense of security….

Please pay attention to the candidates stance on free speech and other perceived liberties, please ask these questions of the candidates, take the issues to the candidates - don’t let the candidates and the media create the issues - make them talk about the issues that really matter to America.
